TO TRAILHEAD: From Concord, go N on I-93; take exit 34A for Flume Gorge. Follow US 3 for .5 mi. N of Flume Gorge entrance, then turn R into parking lot @ trailhead parking sign.

Begin hiking NNE, following blue-blazed Pemi Trail for .6 mi.; turn L onto bike path for .2 mi.

Turn L before bridge onto white-blazed Whitehouse Trail; pass under 2 bridges, then R onto Cascade Brook Trail

Veer R @ Y, staying on mellow, white-blazed Cascade Brook Trail

L onto Fishin' Jimmy Trail; follow to Lonesome Hut. Break for the evening or just for a swim and water refill. Caution: Trail is often wet and muddy in spring

L onto blue-blazed Kinsman Pond Trail; pass tent platforms (fee for use), shelter, outhouse before Kinsman Pond. Lunch on rocky shore; continue on shoreside trail. Option: Extend hike by summiting up to N and S Kinsman Peaks via Kinsman Ridge Trail
