Get away from the heat of Phoenix and hike, mountain biking, or horse ride the many trails in this area, 5 min north of Payson near Huston Mesa Campground. To Trailhead: From Phoenix take 202 to 87(Arizona Avenue) Go north on this for about 70 miles. Once you enter Payson you still continue on 87 north past the 260 and you will turn right onto Huston Mesa Rd. Go another mile on Huston Mesa Rd tot he Huston Mesa Trailhead on the right, it will be a dirt turn around where you will park.
