TO TRAILHEAD: From Leadville, take US 24 S for roughly 4.5 mi. Turn R onto CO 300. In .7 mi., turn L onto CR 11. In 1.2 mi., turn R @ Y to stay on CR 11 (toward Halfmoon Creek). In 7.3 mi., stay straight @ 3-way with Halfmoon Rd. Go .5 mi. and park at trailhead.
