The Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club's Touring Group hosts this fun and interesting ride on July 11, 2009.  We'll start out from "downtown" Ringling at 9:30 a.m. (get there a little earlier to pay the $2 fee and fill-out the insurance form) and go north on US Highway 89 for a short distance before turning onto the very lightly traveled Highway 294.  Stop for a turkey sandwich and pasta lunch and some pie at Martinsdale's Crazy Mountain Inn-proclaimed as having some of  the best pie in Montana by Montana Magazine.  After lunch we return to Ringling (the Ringling bar has reopened-if you want to hang out for a while).  If you have a little extra time-either before or after lunch-visit the Bair Family Museum just outside of Martinsdale.  The total ride is about 64 miles.

DIRECTIONS TO RINGLING FROM BOZEMAN:

Ringling is about 52 miles northeast of Bozeman on US Highway 89.  Take Bridger Canyon Road (MT 86) past Bridger Bowl and over Battle Ridge Pass.  At the junction of MT 86 and US 89 turn left (north) towards White Sulphur Springs and Great Falls.  Ringling is about 20 miles north of the junction with MT 86 and US 89.  The bike club will be set up in Ringling near the post office.
