TO TRAILHEAD: Start: From Big Stony Creek Rd. and Iron Springs Dr. in Interior, VA, head east on Big Stony Creek Rd. for 500 feet to trail crossing.
End: From Newport, VA, take VA 42 southwest .5 mile to US 460. Turn right and take US 460 northwest 1.7 miles to right turn onto Mountain Lake Rd. to intersection of VA 613, where there is trailhead parking and kiosk for Mountain Lake Wilderness.
