From the Kokopelli Trailhead, follow 12 Road for a quick .6-mile ride to a three-way junction. Turn right onto a dirt road, then climb a rocky doubletrack for 1.4 miles to an overlook of the Colorado River and the top of the hike-a-bike down to Horsethief Bench. Ride the 3.6-mile loop clockwise: skirt beneath the orange sandstone cliff to your left, then ride rock-dotted singletrack near the cliff’s edge above the river. On the western end, turn northeast up a drainage and pick up hard-packed singletrack beneath the cliffs. Return up the hike-a-bike and rumble back down the two-track road past piñon pine to the trailhead.

Rating: Intermediate. The doubletrack climb is a short but stiff, and the rocky southwestern half of the loop has nice technical tests. Watch for tube-piercing prickly pear.
