The shortest shuttle takes out at Oswold West Parking lot, 0.5 miles from the campground.
The next parking opportunity is 1.3 miles from the suspension bridge as you start up the base of the mountain. End at a pullout on 101 that is marked on the road opposite as the trailhead for the Neahkahnie climb.
In years past, hikers could camp at the campground. Though there is still a functioning day use park, overnight camping is no longer allowed since a tree fell almost on top of a camper's tent.
This can be joined with OCT 4.5 over Neahkahnie (4.3 more miles) or along the road (1.2 miles of spectacular views and ample sidewalk).

Watch for a post that directs you through what looks like a private drive to the bridge beyond and the start of the trail.

Oswold west day use and campground can be a bit confusing. Look for a map here : http://www.oregonstateparks.org/images/pdf/oswest_map.pdf
