The spell of winter broke this weekend. Our feverish work in anticipation of the baby has ramped up. I finally got the bike out of hibernation for a quick spin. Tested some newer hills in the neighborhood.

Took a slightly different path to Walter Reed and then dropped into the park on Sherill. Lots of debris on the road to avoid. Took the first right and did the small gradient climb to the west side of the park before the rollers back to the northern fringe. Stayed on Daniel Road to meet back up with Beach Drive. Then I circled back into Takoma Park and hit the hills of my neighborhood to scout out a nice set of repeats that will keep me close to home. I have to create a backyard routine to get some miles in this spring. Really tried to stay in the saddle for the shorter, punchy climbs. Would love to have my own personal Flanders (minus the massive mileage and hellish weather) to set my spring off right. With temps in the 60s, I was able to ride in shorts without gloves. Not a bad hour on the road.
